Hoxie, R. L. (Richard Leveridge), 1844-1930

Richard Leveridge Hoxie (1844-1930) served in the Civil War and graduated from West Point in 1868. He served with George Montague Wheeler during his 1872-1873 field sessions. In 1874, he was promoted to Chief Engineer of the District of Columbia under the Temporary Board of Commissioners, and became Assistant to the Engineer Commissioner of the District in 1878.
